Spent a lovely afternoon up at HorseBack UK today. Was roasting hot and the scenery as stunning as ever. This is Brooke, a retired racehorse, who came to the charity to find a new career after his racing days ended due to injury… very similar to many of the service men, women and veterans who visit HorseBack… the job they have been trained to do has come to an end, often through injury, and need nurtured with new skills to begin civilian life…
Brooke's new career involves working with the service men, women and veterans who come to HBUK as well as being a demonstration horse for the work the charity does. With a little care and understanding, he has a great new life, saved from being put down.
