Born a Glaswegian, it's hard for me not to well up with pride at how the city is welcoming, organising and celebrating the Commonwealth Games.

Like many, I'm involved professionally in a peripheral supporting role but it's the people of Scotland who will make it an event to remember.

(The sport is incidental, it's all about the party!!)
