Perfect day
Hard to believe this is Scotland, my almost-local beach on a perfect summer afternoon. Arran floated in the heat haze, the Waverley paddled its iconic way across the horizon, the tide went out and left more and more hard-ribbed sand to walk on, and I had my first Scottish sea-swim of the summer.
We had a picnic, and a flask of tea; we met friends who materialised out of the sun and joined us for the afternoon; we wandered back up the track to the car and found the thermometer was reading 29ºC.
Summer has happened. This is what summer is about. Cheers!
