Back to the beach
Day trip to Cronulla was a day of contrasts. Started out as a bright sunny morning, walking along a beautiful empty long stretch of beach that reminded me of Nairn back home.
We walked to the end and then around the rugged headland of the National Park and while the clouds gathered we to get the bus back to Cronulla. This was mistake, the road to the bus stop was a long single track lined by pylons, rubbish and debris. I could see the main road at the end and as we progressed we found ourselves in the middle of an industrial estate.
Arriving at the main road and bus stop only to find the next bus will be in two hours... so we start to walk the hour and a half walk back to Cronulla, along the main road passing through industrial works with cars and lorries flying by! If I had studied the area on google maps I would have been prepared, who knew there would be such a contrasting environment in the middle of National Park and Nature Reserves.
