Butterfly Brunch

I actually started out to get a photo of a pretty bunch of crape myrtle blossoms, but got sidetracked by this butterfly as it fluttered onto a nearby leaf. So, I started shooting the butterfly as it sat with wings closed, thinking that any minute, it would open its wings so that I could get a few shots and get on with my morning. I waited---neighbors passed by as they took their dogs out for morning walks---and then passed by me again as they returned. The butterfly continued to sit with wings closed, tantalizing me with a brief glimpse just about the time I was ready to give up. Only later did I see that I had captured the tongue rolling in and out---a much better catch, indeed!....
