Croquet on the Lawn

Another night with a huge thunderstorm which seemed to go on for ages. Sunday started a bit dull, but thankfully cooler.

We headed to Wisbech with a picnic with a plan to visit Peckover House. Once we found it (there is a long story to be told here!), we headed straight for the fantastic walled garden and had our picnic as the sun was trying to come out. BB was very keen to play croquet on the lawn, which he did with TT while I wandered. We then explored the beautiful gardens before heading into the Georgian house where we learned that the Peckovers were a Quaker family who became successful bankers. The bank eventually became part of Barclays Bank. It was very interesting. We then headed for a wander round Wisbech before heading home for a BBQ and a visit from Maisie the dog!
