Coughton Court

You can't waste sunshine like this.
And you need to make the most of National Trust membership.

So I set off to Coughton Court, a beautiful place I haven't visited for many, many years.

A stunning house, of course - beautiful churches - but on a day like today, it had to be the gardens taking pride of place.

Yesterday I was at the RHS Tatton Flower Show, but none of the show gardens or trade stands could hold a candle to the immaculate Walled Garden with its Rose Labyrinth.

I did take a cursory wander through the house (and I know I must go back when I can give it my full attention.)

But the gardens called me back - and there were plenty of butterflies to count too.
