Wow, what can I say about today?

We performers turned up quite early and, after going through security, were in an amazingly busy yet surprisingly relaxed world inside Celtic Park. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the glorious sunshine for a while before going in to start getting into makeup, costumes and so forth, ready for the show.

As we got later into the evening more and more areas became inaccessible. The place I took this picture from was locked down quite early. But it gives you some sense of the scale of the place – 40,000 in the audience, over 3,000 performers and over 5,000 athletes all gathered together for a celebration of sport.

And what a celebration! We danced and sang, and the athletes seemed to be loving it! At the end of the show, they came to use to have selfies taken, to join in with the singing – the athletes from Uganda and Ghana leading us in songs and dances long after the crowds had packed up and gone home.

Truly an amazing night. Now let’s hope that everyone has a fantastic games!
