Apples to cider...
The @digthecity TWEET hour was all about food an vegetables grown in gardens this week. It made me check on the apples on our trees at the bottom of the garden. They are doing quite nicely. They usually produce a decent crop and the neighbours start avoiding us later on for fear they will have yet more apples pressed upon them.
But they don't need to fear this year as I may have found another outlet for our surplus. A cooperative in the interesting suburb of Manchester, Moss Side, has set up a little company turning the apples that grow organically on the city's trees into cider, amusingly called Mosscider. If you give them 10kg of apples you will be rewarded with some bottles of cider in return. Sound like a no brainier to me....
