All grown up
My younger son, Kári, turned 18 today.
After a small birthday celebration with his great-grandmother (also my grandmother) who turned 88 today and now lives in a nursing home, we had a great birthday-dinner and then went to the theater to see Ræflavík / Punk Rock by Simon Stephens. Great play, but I was very happy to walk out of the building after those (almost) three hours because it was very hot in there. Have I mentioned we're having a really hot summer in Akureyri this year? :)
Happy birthday Kári! :)
"Age of competence is 18 in Iceland. At 18 the individual receives legal competence, i.e. financial competence and personal competence, as well as the right to vote. You can get a licence to drive on the day you turn 17 but a person must be 20 years old to buy alcohol".
