The first day of the Summer Holidays. I did not go out apart from a walk in the evening down to the river and back. It was another very hot day but at least there was a breeze that did help to take edge off the heat. There does look as if there is a change on the way at the weekend to better weather.

The pines on the left are part of a long thin partially planted hanger (the local term for a small wood that straddles a valley with a river or stream running through it). Beans are everywhere in the fields and they will be harvested I think in the autumn.
