Summer madness

It is too hot for me and for many others. The sunshine is glorious but the heat is oppressive and a good downfall of rain overnight would be perfect!

Carla just loves it. She is out all night, every night. Today she came close to home this morning but declined to come in. I'd seen her catch a mouse, so I knew she was not starving...... All day she was nowhere to be seen. After much calling for her, she deigned to come in this evening, but was off out again within 10 minutes and without eating. Summer madness indeed.

These inulas make a wonderful show. They are the sign of high summer. They are also thugs, taking over anywhere they grow, but for now, they reign supreme.

I've been packing and sorting all day. Off to Southampton tomorrow for the weekend.
