Kiss and whiz

That seems to be the best translation of the text on the signs on the sidewalk at the local elementary school in the village centre. The signs say "Zoen en zoef" , pronounce as 'soon' with a z instead of an s' and the oe in the next word is again pronounced as the double o in soon. 'Zoen' is kiss and 'zoef' is the whizz sound of driving off fast, obviously in this case it means this is a place where you can drop off your child to school, but you can't stay parked there. It looked/sounded quite funny and the whole place looked so colourful with those fuchsia pink and yellow fences and bycicle stands and the lovely pink petunias that I just had to capture it. Seen when going into town to the dry-cleaner's only to find out they're on their holidays, as many people/businesses are at the moment.

Thank you very much for your comments and stars and even a fave on Tuesday's little windmill and thank you even more for yesterday's stars and faves. Yesterday's day of mourning was something very special, it was solemn and impressive and very emotional, and hopefully it did help all the bereaved to know how much a whole country seemed to be grieving with them. Unfortunately yesterday and today there have been two more airplane crashes, and even if these have nothing to do with war, it must be just as heartbreaking for the relatives and loved ones of these new air disaster victims.
