Philip

Today Philip's two nieces and nephew arrived from the north east (with children). Philip was a big family man and loved having our families around. The temperature hit 30 degrees in the shade and the motorway had been anything but friendly! The children were happy with the sprinkler and buckets of water in the garden! Indeed the first time I met Philip's nephew it was during a water fight with Ceri on a similarly hot day 18 years ago!

My uncle was hoping to be here for the funeral tomorrow but after six and a half stationary hours on the M6 between junctions 34 and 33, caused by a diesel spillage, has decided to head home! At the age of 80 this was a wise decision!

I am humbled by the lengths both family and friends have gone to in order to pay their respects to Philip. I do hope the sun shines on everyone tomorrow - wherever they may be. X
