Damselfly
The plan was to get up early this morning and head off for Middleton Lakes. I wasn't quite as early as I'd hoped, but still managed a lovely walk around the Wetland Trail before it got too hot. I'd really hoped to see a Kingfisher in the woodland part of the reserve - maybe one day. I did see my first Lapwing and managed to get enough of a photo to confirm what I'd seen, but it wasn't really up to much. Also saw the odd dragonfly and what I think were banded demoiselles. These were far too quick for me, but this Common Blue stuck around long enough for me to get a couple of shots.
