The bat walk
On Thursday evening I went for a walk round a local park with the Kent Bat Group. I had not taken any photos all day saving myself for the bat walk. I realised when I arrived at the park that the light was fading and quickly snapped this heron (and not for the first time) in the fading light.
Just as well, because my numerous attempts to photograph bats flying was a distaster- they move so quickly I have a lot of black blurs against the sky. One of the experts reassured me that even experienced wild life photographers find bats had to capture and admitted that a lot of photos of bats were "mock ups"
I will record that I saw noctules, common and soprano pipistelles and daubentons - but sorry no photos!
