Newhailes

Newhailes, near Musselburgh, is a grand example of a Scottish House which was built in the 17th Century. It has been conserved by The National Trust for Scotland and contains some wonderful art and original furniture. We were fortunate to get a very "private " tour with a guide all to ourselves. The outstanding room is the library which was a seat of learning and study in the 17th and 18th centuries
A walk in the grounds also showed off the wonderful setting of the house with its views to the east over the Forth towards Fife and North Berwick.
This is place well worth a visit
