Helicopter Around The McDonald Ranges

Up nice and early this morning to get everything ready for our flight. We did a quick wash under the van so it didn't look like we had been on dirt tracks! Amazing sunrise just as we left the campsite. Found the place to drop off the van. Then took a taxi to the airport to drop off our big luggage. We were far too early to check in so we got him to drop us off at the helicopter place. He guessed the weight of our bags and said that he was sure about the weight as he used to be a weight champion or something!! Later on when we got to the airport he was completely wrong!
We both had our first helicopter ride...it was a fun experience. It was a helicopter for 3 people. It felt so bizarre and almost fake hoovering around. As we were coming over one of the hills we were getting pushed around quite a lot but the pilot assured us that it was okay as it was the wind rushing over the hill. It would have been funny to have made up a story for mother!! The helicopter went over Simpsons gap and Alice Springs. Got some good views.
Checked in at the airport. We had a long time to wait. Chatted to a little boy and his father at the airport. He gave me a name of a potential place I could do my regional work. Duncan picked us up at the airport. Nice to be back with the lovely Sayers again!
