Party time!

Back blipping in some haste before the memories slip away completely.

Another exciting day at The Open, with Rory Mclroy staying ahead after a slippery start. The threatened thunder storms never arrived, but the R&A decision to start players at the 1st and the 10th was vindicated when torrential rain started just after play ended for the day.

We made it to shelter just in time and bumped into our nephew and some of his friends who have stayed with us in Rio over the years – so good to see them. After a quick drink in the club house, we limped home to find 21 people now staying or camping at HH’s sister’s place (we’ve moved to our daughter’s till Monday), and in time for a splendid birthday dinner put on by sis-in-law for her aunt (all of 3 years older than HH and sis-in-law, and looking a good 20 years younger than her age). There was even a birthday cake, and we relit the candle and made Sue blow it out three times, to make sure we got her on record. An evening to remember.
