Revitalised pond
After a lovely quiet night in the hotel, we picked up son number one quite early and headed to M-in-Laws. Son and husband started on the trips to the tip while I had a tour of the garden and got started on trying to revitalise a very sad and overgrown pond. The rain kept coming down but in the end we were so wet it didn't really matter anymore and it wasn't cold.
I managed to separate out and repot some aquatic plants that were lost in the overgrown pond. There was even a lily with a bud on it in there. We scooped out the accumulated sludge, rinsed out the liner and then refilled with a barrel of rain water and the natural rain that was coming down quite heavily by then. The water soldiers and frogbit and oxygenating pond weed were from the pond at home so I hope they'll take off.
After a nice lunch and more chatting and sorting out a few more jobs, we headed back to Sheffield through a thunderstorm. Had a shower and a rest and then went out for a curry. Nice meal and good to catch up with son number one.
