Emerging Black Darter

The newly emerged adult dragonfly, below out of focus, has just emerged from it's larval case, exuvia, above in focus! I was balanced on one leg, crouching , on rocks at the edge of a deep lochan which I did not want to swim in! No apologies for non sharpness!
The larva lives two to three years in the water, emerges and has only eight weeks to fly around, mate , lay and die!!!!!! What a life! Fascinates me!
