"hope is found"
Tonight I met the man behind my favourite worship song.
It's the song that follows me around, popping up every time I seem to need a little pick-me-up, a reminder that I'm not alone and also at times when I need guidance and support. It was there on my first night at the university CU when I was so homesick, and it was there on my last night when I didn't want the experience to end. Since then it seems to appear just when I need it most, and lately its been around a lot more than usual!
The writer is Stuart Townend.
The song is 'In Christ Alone'.
And tonight, at his concert in Dundee, I got to sing it with him. A very special moment.
"In Christ Alone, my hope is found....
....and as he stands in victory,
Sins curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am his, and he is mine!
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death.
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry, to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny!"
I don't know what the future holds for me. I thought I did, but I quickly learnt otherwise! Many doors have closed and many others are proving difficult to push open. I just have to try and remember that the big man upstairs knows what he's doing.
I just need to have faith.
