Sometimes...
even the hardest days can be the most beautiful.
Today was incredibly heart wrenching for my family. We learned today that indeed my grandma DID have a stroke as most of us suspected. My grandma is TRULY the most amazing, most courageous, most beautiful, and strongest woman I have ever known.
She has been a fighter her entire life. She had a difficult childhood, painful young adult life, and her later years have been filled with SO MUCH sickness and hospitalizations.
BUT
she NEVER gives up.
NEVER.
Not only does she never give up but she always manages to keep her beautiful spirit alive and her humor.......well she HAS to be the funniest woman I have ever known.
She is OUR ROCK.
She is OUR FOUNDATION.
She is OUR EVERYTHING.
Today I was with my grandma every step of the way as she was rolled down to the cat scan room. I talked her through it to ensure she wouldn't be scared.
I also for the first time today fed my grandma a meal.
Today was full of tears, love, laughter, and more tears.
I have learned SO VERY MUCH from my grandma and while today was incredibly heart wrenching, it was also one of the most beautiful days of my life.
I thank God every single day for letting me have my grandma for 31 years.
I hope to make it to 32 years but no matter what happens I know she will be happy and at peace.
AND I know I have HER to thank for the strength that I have always prided myself in having. I learned it from her.
Sure life can be painful at times but you know what?
Sometimes even the hardest days can be the most beautiful.
