Magnificent Magnolia

This a most interesting tree as it flowers first before the leaves begin to form. This year we have had a very dry autumn (fall) followed by an even drier winter thus far, revealing less blooms than I would normally expect.

As the petals fall they make quite an attractive carpet around the base of the tree, although this time the "carpet" may be a little threadbare.

There's always next year!!!
