Following on from the flight to Bangkok, there was another hour an the airport before taking the 6.5 hour flight to Dubai, here I had just over 4 hours to wander round, get washed and changed, have a Burger King at 07:00, before catching the final 6.5 hour flight to Heathrow!

Having boarded the plane around 09:00, take off was 09:40, we then spent around an hour sitting on the plane as there was additional luggage being put in the hold.

Seemed like a long flight, my restless legs took hold, so no real chance of sleep, watched 'Saving Mr Banks', read and then the 2014 'Sherlock' series back to back.

As it was raining heavily at Heathrow we had to circle for around 30 minutes, may have been longer, but chatted to the NZ girl next to me, who had just started a job in Dubai for MAC and was visiting friends in London, odd we had sat together all that time but only started chatting when circling.

After landing straight through immigration, then it took ages for my bag, half thought it might not have made the journey but it had. Met Mick, the taxi driver, and arrived home just before 18:00, after travelling through some really heavy rain on the motorways, and 37 hours journey time from take off in Christchurch to arriving home.
