Miss Saigon (Three)

Looks like I'm finally going to get my trekking shoes back. Had lent them to a girl who was also staying with M in Kenya, who was travelling on to Rwanda and planning on hiking to see the gorillas in sandals. Given it's apparently a tough slog through muddy ground, I thought that was probably a little unsound. Got an email from her today to say that the trek was 'life changing in more ways than one' and that the shoes 'saved her life'. Not sure if she's being dramatic or if there's an interesting story there.... I'm curious.
