Day 4 of 100 Days of Nature

As if by magic or the fact they've read the description about them in each identification book, I found cinnabar moth caterpillars on ragwort today… it's their preferred food plant… it's very rare not to find at least one cinnabar moth caterpillar on ragwort. I realise not many people like ragwort as they're poisonous to livestock, but where there's no livestock, they're a stunning plant full of LIFE!
I'm back for 100 days - or at least back blipping - I'm doing this #100DaysofNature photograph thing in conjunction with BBC Springwatch :) Just take a look on their Facebook/Twitter feed for more details or Click here(Facebook)
This picture was taken in one of our local Devon Wildlife Trust reserves, although the weather had gone, we got bitten by horseflies & there was a terrible smell of muck spreading wafting over the whole place, not pleasant! But it's the perils of living in the countryside! x
