Purple rain

I took to my soggy garden for another blip today. Thank you so much for the lovely comments about the colour of the pink lace hydrangea yesterday. That is in a pot in the back garden - this purple one is a huge hydrangea shrub at the front, just at the sitting room window.

Have you ever looked closely at the structure of a hydrangea flower? Lots of them had a little bud-shaped bit in the middle, but in others the bud is open to reveal tiny little petals protecting the anthers and stigma. I must read up on that!

I have another three weeks or so of holidays left and next week it's the turn of the house to get a bit of attention. I shall be a veritable tornado whizzing around with my duster!
