Glasgow 2014
Another Commonwealth themed day.
Up and out early to watch the weightlifting at Clyde Auditorium. Groups B & C. Two for the price of one because so many wanted to compete. Cool!
We were all very impressed with the men's 77kg groups. The music between each competitor really added to the buzz (although there was something rather undignified about playing the Benny Hill tune mid-competition. Odd choice, along with the Pink Panther theme tune - quite funny though). The blip shows the Canadian competitor, Jean-Marc Beland seemingly throwing the weights up in the air like a sack of potatoes.
Popped along to Pacific Quay and the Science Centre afterwards to see some futuristic technology from the BBC eggheads. The Oculus was amazing. A kinda wrap around your head goggle thing that puts you into a venue as the live action's happening. Very, very clever.
A quick sit down on a deckchair to watch the men's 100m and then back home :-)
