Threads of love

A brother shares childhood memories and grown-up dreams....

Raksha Bandhan is a festival entirely dedicated to the love and affection shared between a brother and sister in Hinduism.

A Rakhi is a sacred thread of protection embellished with lots of love and affection of a sister and brother. On the 10th of August I will tie a Rakhi around my brothers wrists praying for their long life and lots of blessings and in turn brothers give a promise to care and always protect their sisters. Oh yeah we get presents too, and kids love this exchange in particular.

I bought mine today from Wembley, so am all set and ready to celebrate with my wonderful, loving bros in a couple of weeks!

Some of my best childhood memories are of this day, so much fun, laughter and buckets of love! We are blessed with the best brothers I have to say, after all they have us wonderful sisters prayers with them right...
