Carry on camping

We had promised our nephew a camping trip before the end of his school holidays. With one thing and another, this was the only weekend we could do it. As bad luck would have it, the beautiful weather we have been enjoying did not hold. So at the last minute we decided we would camp out the back garden, so if it got too wet, we could bug out. It also meant our little niece could come along.

We made the best of the dry weather while it lasted and had a cook out for lunch. We went to the Pipe Band Championships in the afternoon just as it started to rain. By teatime it was lashing down, and we had it in the house!! But both boys braved the tent at night and slept soundly in their sleeping bags - me and Ems were snug as bugs in the house!
