Guiding idol

today was the day i went to the north west england girlguiding headquarters to the guiding idol event.

i chose gill as my guest to take with me and i was really looking forward to it

the other 2 idols for staockport were nola smith and beryl richmond, unfortunately due to nolas ill health she couldn't attend but beryl was there with her daughter hannah

when we arrived we were given drinks and there was a sweet cart, then the idols planted a flower with a message on and the guests wrote a heart with a message on for a tree, we had a chat and then afternoon tea was served which was mini burgers, vegetable fritata and fish balls, followed by brownies, cupcakes and scones and cream

after this we went outside to a presentation where a plaque was unveiled along with a brownie rose and we were given a beautiful thank you badge, then we exchanged the flowers and took some photos etc

it was a nice day and an honour to be chosen

all leaders are a guiding idol, they all give there time for free and do inspiring things for girls all over the region
