Pool reflections
The rain was lashing down as we set off wearing waterproofs and fleeces but by the time we had walked to Ravensheugh beach the black clouds were dispersing. In the distance we watched a 105 year old tallship, the Grossherzofgin-Elisabeth, unfurl its magnificent sails as it made its way from Leith back to Bremerhaven in Germany. Soon the sun appeared and after exploring the beach the children enjoyed searching for crabs and other creatures in the rock pools before braving the cold sea water for an invigorating swim. We left the beach as the sea had turned a Mediterranean blue colour under a sunny sky.
