Mono Monday:Signs

This always amuses me but unless you read on it looks pretty ordinary.

The thing is that this sign tells HGV's how to avoid various streets including the High Street. BUT what you won't know, unless you live here, is that the High Street is an old road that ends at a large old house, known as Milverton Court. Further the public highway ends and turns into a private drive about 300yds before the Court.

So there is NO WAY to Wiveliscombe unless you cross several fields which will only a 4 x 4 could manage in dry weather as there is quite a climb up a hill!

I have no idea when there was a road to Wiveliscombe but would think it will not have been within the past 150 years or more!!!
