"I'm the ice cream man, honey,I'll be good to you"

Cheat day has finally arrived and I am so excited. So instead of going crazy all day with the calorie loading I had my normal 30g of protein breakfast followed by a 30g protein Sunday lunch with lots measured amounts of veg and blah blah blah, how dull! So last night I was up till 1am baking for my cheat day. I take my work very seriously you know. I made key lime pie with homemade ginger nut biscuit base and Italian merengue topping. I made vegan coconut and lime ice cream and I made a brown butter apple crostata with maple syrup sauce. So I had one scoop of ice cream, two small slices of key lime pie and a tiny slice of the crostata and then disaster hit. It all tasted horrible. The crostata was too buttery, and I really dislike butter and the taste of butter. It was also way too sweet, I like a nice tart apple and tart apple dessert. The key lime pie was delicious, really really limey but so heavy, I could barely finish my slice. Now, for anyone who knows me, or who has ever eaten in my company you will know that I am a bottomless pit when it comes to food. Nothing ever gets unfinished on the table let alone on my plate. Nothing is ever too sweet or unmanagable when it comes to desserts and I love my food so you can only imagine how upsetting these events were. I had ruined my only vice and at the moment pleasure in my life, sugar! I think I had changed my tastebuds being on this diet. I have certainly shrunk my appetite. I am devastated. To top it all off. The insulin spike really hit me hard, I felt sick, had to drink lots of water, had to go lay down and then I passed out cold asleep on the bed. When I woke up I felt awful so I went for a 5km walk/run. Worst cheat day ever! Next week I am going to have to think of a different strategy. But what? I don't really like savoury food and I don't like fast food. I don't eat bread or cheese or drink wine, so what can I enjoy on my cheat day? This dieting business is so not fun.
