Sevens

Mo had managed to get tickets for the final of the Commonwealth Games rugby sevens.

We had a great day: as well as fast, exciting rugby, the atmosphere was something special too - each time a team got knocked out, they'd do a circuit of the ground to huge applause from the crowd.

The people in front were over from NZ, having managed to arrange their holiday to coincide with the Games; they looked at me as if I was daft when I asked if they'd come over especially!

We didn't even mind when the medallists kept their backs to us. And on the bus back to the park and ride, we spotted the coach with the Australian team, their medals still round their necks.
