Battery Mail Box

A quirky difference for a Britisher living in the US is the way the mail works in the US. For many, the big improvement on the British system is that most individual dwellings have their own mail box in which the mail man places the daily post, but also picks up any mail that is being sent - very convenient. Unfortunately, not everyone benefits from this system as for some reason, in certain neighborhoods, the above arrangement provides for a communal deposit of mail for a whole section, but there is no option to leave mail for pick up - a quirky difference in convenience!!
