Small Tortoiseshell

We're into the Big Butterfly Count, and have clicked Large White, Small White, Green-veined White and several Small Tortoiseshell in the Garden. So far no exotics, nor likely to be, alas!

The place to be this afternoon, for a butterfly, was a snooze in the sun, attached to our pebble dash several metres up on the house wall, presumably by karabiner and pitons. I stuck a ladder alongside to get high for this close up. The wee lad/lass didn't seem to mind at all.
