The Rum Cuillin
I'm glad I did absolutely no planning for this ridge walk and left it all to C, cos otherwise I might well have refused to go!
We set out in pretty dreary conditions and within 20 minutes I had fallen into a huge puddle and drenched both boots. Luckily we had C's trusty GPS system as well as the map/compass to keep on track, but what a track that was. Really steep ascents, scary ridges and slippery rock. We were very careful though and it was definitely worth the effort when the clouds lifted and we could see the mainland, Skye, Muck and Eigg. Just beautiful. And then we spotted some red deer which made it even better.
After almost 9 hours and 3 peaks (we skipped out 2) later, we made it back to Kinloch just in time for a superb dinner of Heinz spaghetti and sausages, before hopping onto a boat which took us out to see the Mnax Sheerwaters. We were lucky and saw a Golden Eagle and a Sea Eagle as well.
Then I had a nice little snooze on the trip back to Malaig...
