Speed

Today's cycling ride was brief. I don't think I have taken a shorter early morning ride. We went through some tough rocky terrain which was a bit challenging. The early morning light was just beautiful again as the red ball of fire peeped above the horizon.

To do photography satisfactorily, a particular mindset is required. For cycling it is another. Most of our rides are focussed towards cycling where photography is a mere byproduct. I quite like it that way. One of the many things I like about cycling is when it gets tough. When a series of long steep uphill climbs takes you beyond exhaustion, and somehow you find the will and the energy to persist and move on, move beyond tiredness and speed through level roads again. So, today was all a bit of a compromise, not enough cycling, not enough photography.

But being out early is always a good thing. Especially when the weather is good.
