Yonder lies Wales
Early morning, across the Dee estuary. Not sure if the mist was in the air or in my camera.
HH and his sister played golf - a chance to tread where champions had trod, though not attempting miracles from the same tees. They dropped me off at our daughter's house and in due course, she and her daughter and husband and the two grandmothers (me and his mother ) set off to walk across the beach to the water's edge. Granddaughter, her father and his mother rose to the challenge, subsequently clocking it as a 40 minute plod. After ploughing through gloopy muddy stuff at first, then ridged sand, hard on the instep, daughter and I decided that a quick paddle in two inches of water would not adequately reward further efforts and turned back. Meanwhile, grandson didn't even leave his room.
In the afternoon, we plodded along the prom to take granddaughter to her tennis lesson, then back via the station to check on family ticket and general train prices. Legs weary and knees complaining by the time I was collected by HH and sis-in-law and taken home for a drink outside in the warm evening, a good dinner and bed.
