San Sebastián: Monte Igueldo

This is the view from Monte Igueldo in San Sebastián! We hiked up there and enjoyed a picnic of pan y jambon y lomo (bread with Spanish ham) overlooking the view. Totally worth the hike!

I went to San Sebastián for the weekend with an au pair friend for the jazz festival! Saw so much more than just jazz though! The views are astounding, the old town is bustling with pinxto bars, the pinxtos (like Basque tapas) are amazingly delicious and inventive, the beach is gorgeous and the sea is perfect for a swim! I had an amazing time and fell in love with this gem of a city.

It's in Basque country, which has been trying to gain independence from Spain for years, so its distinct culture, history and language is particularly interesting to me!
