Safer Motherhood and Child Survival in #Bangladesh
The maternal death rate in Bangladesh remains high at 240 deaths per 100,000 live births (compared to 12 in the UK).
Maternal mortality is higher in women living in rural areas and among poorer communities because of general poor health and lack of medical care.
We train Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) in skills that will help them safeguard the lives of women in their care. This photo is taken in rural Chuadanga at an IMPACT TBA training session.
