Ormonde Hill
Happy dogs this morning on Ormonde Hill.
Lovely breezy morning up on the hill. All 3 dogs feeling very lively and playful. No barbecues around I'm glad to say! In fact we saw no-one at all, which for a sunny August morning was unusual.
I do hope this walk doesn't get onto the tourist itinerary, although it's lovely for people to enjoy the walks,I do find it very upsetting when I see rubbish left just lying on the ground. When we walked up the Fairy Glen yesterday I spent a lot of time clearing up empty sandwich wrappers, abandoned drink bottles, a used nappy even by the waterfall. I am constantly clearing up after other peoples dogs, if only people would take their own rubbish away with them. Sorry, that's my moan for the week!
The majority of visitors are lovely, I met a party of Czechoslovakian walkers on the same walk yesterday, so friendly and appreciative of the Glen. One lady was standing hugging a tree, we had a long conversation about the different trees she had spotted that day and their names, me practicing her words and she trying to learn the English names. So I should not complain, you cannot be welcoming to one group and not to others.
