Commonwealth Games

A great day at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. An early start (6:30am) meant I was only the 7th bike on the canal at Lochrin Basin today according to the cycle counter! Took the train from the recently refurbished Haymarket Station - where trains run on one side and trams on the other. The train was packed to the gunnels but everyone, including the commuters who are having to endure this each morning on their way to and from work, were in good spirits - laughing and joking with everyone.

Spent the morning watching the hockey, which was particularly exciting as it was the ladies Scotland team and England team playing each other for a place in the semis. A great atmosphere with pipes, flags and singing. Afterwards we took in the sights of Glasgow Green and the Merchant City - where I found this mural. The city is buzzing!
