Hascombe Hill looking to Breakneck Hill

I explored a different area today and one where I had never walked round before. Parking just south of the Surrey village of Hascombe, I followed a series of paths around Hascombe Hill. The paths follow the top of the escarpment and eventually turn away back towards the village and I managed to find my way back to the car park! This view is looking rougly SW from the hill across the valley to Breakneck Hill with the village on the bottom foreground hidden by trees. These hills are part of the Surrey Hills. These run from Farnham in the west to Limpsfield in the east and are part of the Lower Greensand formation. The stone locally here is known as Bargate Stone. This particular sandstone has a golden brown colour and is used in many buildings across the area. Many of the 19th Century churches in this area are built of this attractive stone.
