Back from my Blip Absence

OK - the last couple of weeks have been completely insane and I'm afraid I have completely failed in my efforts to keep up with my blipping :-(

The last few weeks saw us take on a big commercial job for a German Aerospace company which was super-exciting and we absolutely couldn't say no to.. it was fantastic fun but had us working around the clock for an entire week. Never thought I would find myself photographing the undercarriages of Airbus planes!! Straight after that we had a week with four weddings in seven days - all in totally baking hot weather.. we've also had a break-in in the flat downstairs to us resulting in a major review of our home security and a car rather inconveniently conking out while we were at a wedding (..that was a long day, I can tell you!) ..you'll maybe start to take some pity on me that my enthusiasm for getting the camera out each day to do a blip was waning a bit.

Anyway, things are just starting to calm down from defcon one back to the more usual everyday insanity.. we even managed to have a Weekend Wednesday today for the first time in about 3 weeks!

..and what do we do when we get our first day off in three weeks??

Get the cameras out, of course, and go for a bit of technique practice :-) I was honing my technique for taking a portrait against a bright background and getting the background and subject both correctly exposed. This photo of Mr M is one of my test shots and shows him deep in thought ruminating over the implications of adjusting the ISO vs the aperture or shutter speed in these tricky exposure situations - anyway.. it was all very satisfactory and a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

10pm and I haven't started dinner yet.. some things never change!
