Mrs Moorhen and Chick

We have had a pretty rough year with the Moorhens this year.From each hatching we have had only one survivor.
The Gulls seem to have the greatest responsibility for the losses.But I suppose it is natures way of control?
We still have had 4 additions to our Moorhen stock.
