St. John's Wort

This is the flower of the St. John's Wort shrub. We've had this for quite a while and Mr M was actually planning to dig it out and get rid of it this year because it seemed to be past its prime. However, it is now looking very healthy, covered in buds and bright yellow flowers. So it has been given a reprieve.

Another chilly day, with a light rain in the evening. We woke this morning to find that two more calfs had been born, one male and one female. Again, we are impressed with the mothering instinct of these first time moms - very protective and attentive.
