Icicles

Went out for a walk this afternoon and lugged along the 50D and 100mm macro lens, possibly for the last time...

I visited the local camera shop this morning and had a look at my down sizing options: the Panasonic GF1 is a fantastic looking little camera and felt nicer in the hand than the Olympus E-P1. I was also very much impressed with the Olympus E-420 DSLR but it still adds a little more weight and bulk compared with the GF1. The question is: can I live without an optical viewfinder?

I'm prepared to give it a shot with the GF1, initially with the 20mm pancake and 14-45 zoom lenses, and if all goes well then I may invest in the 45mm macro lens which is, unfortunately, (very) expensive. If I don't get on with the GF1 then I can see my photographic future lying in an Olympus DSLR since the equivalent Canons and Nikons just seem bigger than they need to be.

The eBay selling process has started and my Sigma 10-20mm, Canon 20mm, and Canon 100mm Macro lenses are all listed, with the 50D and 50mm f1.4 going on shortly. In a week or so I may have the funds to purchase the new camera! Wish me luck :-)
